Today, August 25, 2025, is a regular holiday in observance of National Heroes Day, pursuant to Proclamation No. 368. Known locally as Araw ng mga Bayani, this day is one of the Philippines’ oldest public holidays, celebrated every last Monday of August.
The Municipality of Mexico, under the leadership of Mayor Ruding Santos Gonzales, joins the nation in honoring the bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of our heroes who fought for freedom and helped shape our nation.
This year’s theme, “𝑰𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝒊𝒘𝒂, 𝑰𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒂𝒉𝒊, 𝑰𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏” (𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕, 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑹𝒂𝒄𝒆, 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏), reminds us that the strength of our heroes lives on when we choose unity and service for the greater good.
May their courage inspire every Mexicano to continue their legacy through service, unity, and love for country.
