MEXICO, Pampanga — The Municipal Government of Mexico has successfully completed the distribution of rice assistance to all 43 barangays, reaching around 48,000 households affected by the recent flooding and the effects of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.

Each household received five kilograms of rice as part of the municipality’s assistance program for families impacted by the prolonged rains and flooding.

The distribution was carried out under the leadership of Mayor Rodencio “Ruding” S. Gonzales, with the support of Vice Mayor Dr. Jonathan “Doc” Pangan and the Sangguniang Bayan of Mexico.

Rice allocations for every barangay were based on the municipality’s official household data to ensure an organized, equitable, and transparent distribution of assistance across the town.

The completion of the municipality-wide distribution was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Municipal Government, barangay officials and representatives, LGU personnel, volunteers, and other individuals who assisted in the delivery and distribution of rice to the intended beneficiaries.

Mayor Ruding expressed his appreciation to everyone who worked together to complete the distribution, especially the barangay officials, volunteers, and municipal personnel who helped bring the assistance closer to the residents.

While the rice assistance may not cover all the needs of families affected by the flooding, the Municipal Government hopes it provided immediate support and some relief to households recovering from the effects of the Habagat.
