Every brushstroke in this exhibition carries with it the beating heart of a Kapampangan who has never forgotten where she came from. Mylene Quito, a daughter of Mexico, Pampanga, paints not just flowers but living testaments of resilience, proof that beauty can rise from devastation, and that love can take root even in the hardest soil.
As a young girl in Pampanga, Mylene’s gift was evident. Her teachers recognized her talent and sharpened it, sending her to represent her school in contest after contest. From classrooms to regional stages, she carried not just her own dreams but the pride of her community. Behind her quiet determination stood her parents and mentors, who believed in her long before she believed in herself.
Life eventually led her to Manila, where she pursued higher studies and found her way into the larger art world. Success came, but Mylene’s heart remained tied to her hometown. She never forgot the place and the people who nurtured her first strokes of paint. Again and again, she has returned, sharing her journey, supporting advocacies, and lighting a path for the next generation of Mexico’s youth to follow.
As she continues to thrive in Manila and beyond, organizing and exhibiting her work locally and internationally, Mylene’s story has come full circle. Her art is no longer just personal. It has become communal. It has become home.
𝑺𝒊𝒃𝒖𝒍 𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒖𝒈𝒖𝒅 𝒂𝒕 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒏 is more than an exhibit. It is a rebirth. It is Mylene’s love letter to Pampanga, to the teachers and parents who believed, and to the new flowers yet to bloom from her hometown. Every canvas whispers a truth that beauty survives, that culture endures, and that hope always finds a way to grow.
