Bantay ASF sa Barangay “BABay ASF” | Yellow Zone Status

October 3, 2023

Congratulations Municipality of Mexico, Pampanga for being included on the list of Yellow Zone under the Bantay ASF sa Barangay “BABay ASF”.
The Municipality of Mexico is the 1st Municipality in the Province of Pampanga who acquired the Yellow Zone Status.
As per ASF color-coding scheme, “Yellow ” zones serve as surveillance, where ASF is not present but adjacent to an infected zone.
It may also be an area previously infected but the ASF virus has not been detected for at least 120 days, recovering from infected status.
Among the activities that contributed to the upgrading of the town’s status is the deployment of biosecurity officers, massive cleaning and disinfection, active surveillance, and detection of the presence of ASF virus remnants.
This certificate is issued upon compliance with Department of Agriculture Administrative Circular No. 12, Series of 2019 “National Zoning and Movement Plan for the Prevention and Control of African Swine Fever”, DA Administrative Order (AO) No. 07, Series of 2021 “Implementing Guidelines for the Bantay ASF sa Barangay (BABay ASF) Program”, and DA AO No. 30, Series of 2021 “Guidelines on the Recovery and Declaration of Freedom from African Swine Fever (ASF) for Local Government Units (LGU’s).
Kudos to the Municipal Government of Mexico headed by Hon. Mayor Rudencio S. Gonzales, Municipal Agriculturist Lauly Pineda ,Municipal ASF Coordinator Sheena Pangan Baccay and her team for a job well done.
Lets help each other to achieve ASF Free.
