HONORING SCAVENGERS, STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY IN MEXICO

Municipal Mayor Rodencio “Ruding” S. Gonzales led the Scavengers’ Day as part of the Fiestang Mexicano celebration, together with Vice Mayor Dr. Jonathan R. Pangan and the Sangguniang Bayan.
More than 200 scavengers from different barangays received ₱2,000 financial assistance each from the Local Government. The activity also featured a raffle segment that brought added excitement and prizes to the beneficiaries.
Joining the program were Councilor Engr. Tristar Sotto, Councilor Arch. Ariel Bonus, and Councilor Allaine Ramos, along with Municipal Administrator Engr. Mark Nestor S. Pineda, Municipal HRMO Christopher Torres, Municipal Tourism Officer Michael Angelo Panlilio, Municipal Information Officer Kathleen Loreen Diaz, PESO Manager Romeo Tiglao, and MSWDO Head Sharmaine Pabustan-Sigua, with support from the Municipal Treasurer’s Office to ensure a smooth flow of the activity.
Mayor Ruding emphasized that Scavengers’ Day will now be part of the annual fiesta celebration. This affirms the important role of scavengers in the community.
