KUMANDER LIWAYWAY, THE JOAN OF ARC OF THE PHILIPPINES HONORED ON ARAW NG KAGITINGAN 2026

Led by Mayor Ruding Santos Gonzales, the Municipality of Mexico, with the assistance of the Mexico Arts, Culture and Tourism Office, paid tribute through an offering of flowers at Kumander Liwayway’s Monument in Barangay Anao in honor of her courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.
Also present during the ceremony were Vice-Mayor Doc Pangan, Councilor Allaine Ramos, Councilor Ludet Sicat, Councilor Engr. Tristar Sotto, Councilor Vince Balajadia, Councilor Jaypee Gozun, the Barangay Council of Barangay Anao headed by Punong Barangay Jose Balajadia, and Mexico MPS headed by PLTCOL Julius Javier, all united in honoring the memory of our Filipino heroes.
Present as well were Kumander Liwayway’s grandsons, Usec. Atty. Aboy Paraiso, Executive Director of the CICC, with his wife Sofia Tanseco-Paraiso, Dr. Ryan Paraiso with his wife Dra. Kristine Cruz-Paraiso, Engr. Bani Paraiso with his wife Toni Astillero-Paraiso, and Atty. Richie Paraiso with his wife Jeanne Harn-Paraiso, Miss Philippines Earth 2007. Also in attendance were Kumander Liwayway’s daughter-in-law, Lydia Adil-Paraiso, and her nephew, Erik Gomez, Chair of the Gomez Legacy Project, the mother organization of the Gomez Legacy Park.
The ceremony served as a reminder that the spirit of bravery lives on in every act of service, unity, and love for country.
