LGU – Mexico’s Six (6) Peat Quest for the Seal of Good Local Governance Award
LGU- Mexico’s Six (6) peat quest for the Seal of Good Local Governance Award—— The Municipal Government of Mexico, Pampanga headed by Hon. Rodencio S. Gonzales welcomes the National Validators for the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance.
In his opening remarks, Mayor Gonzales thanked the whole delegation of the local government for giving it all when it comes to public service and urges all its fellow public servants to do more and give more fort he benefit of the People of Mexico. Further, he extended his gratitude to the validators for taking time to validate the hard work of the local government of Mexico and its people.
For this year’s validation, the team was led by LGOO VI Jennifer G. Baguisi, the LGMED Assistant Division Chief of the Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office II (DILG RO-II) assisted by LGOO II Jayson K. Flores. Joining them are DILG Pampanga Field Office Provincial Director, Dir. Myra B. Moral-Soriano, CESO V and Cluster Team Leader Renalyn Iglesias.
The 2023 SGLG maintains an “all-in” principle where a local government unit must pass all 10 governance areas: (1) Financial Administration and Sustainability; (2) Disaster Preparedness, (3) Social Protection and Sensitivity; (4) Health Compliance and Responsiveness; (5) Sustainable Education, (6) Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; (7) Safety, Peace and Order; (😎 Environmental Management, (9) Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts; and (10) Youth Development.
The validating team was assisted by MLGOO Rita P. Gotiangco and all the department/ section heads of the local government and some Punong Barangays of the Town.
Also present during the national validation are the Sangguniang Bayan of Mexico Members led by Hon. Susana O. Siron, the first lady Vice- Mayor of the Municipal Government.
After the site and table validation and interview, Ms. Baguisit announced that the National Validating Team will be highly recommending the Local Government Unit of Mexico, Pampanga to the last and final national deliberation for this year’s SGLG. Thus, giving Mexico its 6th winning streak of the most prestigious award for local governments.
