The Municipality of Mexico recently held its inaugural two-day Mexico Business Forum on February 15-16, 2024, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering transparent communication and stronger ties between the local government and the business community within the municipality.
Led by Municipal Mayor Rodencio “Ruding” Gonzales, this forum marked a significant milestone as the municipality’s first-ever business forum event, underscoring a commitment to nurturing relationships with local enterprises, which serve as vital contributors to the municipal tax base.
Business owners and corporations seized the opportunity to engage directly with municipal officials, asking questions and seeking clarity on the details of applying for and renewing business permits. The open forum format received glowing praise from participants, who appreciated the chance for direct interaction and dialogue.
The Municipality’s efforts in facilitating business operations also earned commendations, particularly for the recent success of the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) initiative, which streamlined the renewal and application processes for business permits from January 3 to February 15, 2024.
During the forum, representatives from all municipal departments involved in the business permit process were on hand to provide detailed explanations and address queries comprehensively.
Organized by the Municipal Treasurer’s Office headed by its Acting Municipal Treasurer, Ms. Kris Thea Tumang, the event also saw active participation from Sangguniang Bayan members, including Vice Mayor Susana O. Siron, and other municipal department heads.
Mayor Gonzales personally expressed gratitude to the local business community for their indispensable role in sustaining municipal services. His commitment to direct engagement was evident as he took part in the open forum, personally addressing inquiries from attendees. Promising to make the business forum an annual event, Mayor Gonzales affirmed the municipality’s dedication to fostering a conducive and safe environment for business growth and development.
The event took place at SM City Pampanga Cinema 1 on the first day and Beverly Place Golf Course Clubhouse on the second day.
Mr. Christopher Torres, the Municipal Human Resource Management Officer, acted as the host for the 2-day event.
