MEXICO WELCOMES 170 SPES 2026 BATCH 2 BENEFICIARIES

The Municipality of Mexico, led by Municipal Mayor Rodencio “Ruding” S. Gonzales, held the orientation, contract signing, and oath-taking ceremony for 170 college students under Batch 2 of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) 2026.
Municipal Administrator Engr. Mark Nestor S. Pineda joined the activity with DOLE representatives Ms. Patricia Gomez and Ms. Geraldine Antonio, and PESO Manager Romeo “Pas” Tiglao. They discussed the program guidelines, duties, workplace expectations, and benefits with the beneficiaries.
As part of Mayor Ruding Gonzales’ initiative to provide more educational and employment opportunities for young Mexicanos, the Municipal Government increased its SPES allocation from ₱2 million in 2025 to ₱3 million in 2026. This expanded the program from 295 student beneficiaries last year to 425 college students this year.
SPES allows young Mexicanos to earn, gain workplace experience, and support their education. The program also develops responsibility, discipline, and commitment to public service.
Through this initiative, Mayor Ruding continues to invest in the education, development, and future of the youth of Mexico.
