TROPICAL CYCLONE FUNG-WONG (PRE-UWAN) BRINGS HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS NORTHERN AND CENTRAL LUZON

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Weather Advisory No. 2 for Tropical Cyclone FUNG-WONG (pre-UWAN), warning of heavy rainfall across northern and central Philippines from November 8 to 10, 2025. Catanduanes may experience over 200 mm of rain on November 8–9, while Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, and Camarines Norte could receive 100–200 mm, and other provinces including Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Masbate, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, Aurora, Quirino, Isabela, and Cagayan may see 50–100 mm. From November 9–10, rainfall may exceed 200 mm in Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan, while Metro Manila and surrounding provinces could receive 100–200 mm, and Batanes, Batangas, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Aklan, Antique, and Northern Samar may see 50–100 mm. PAGASA cautions that rainfall may be higher in mountainous areas and that impacts could worsen in regions already affected by previous rains. Residents are urged to take precautions, and local disaster risk management offices are advised to protect life and property. The next advisory is expected at 5:00 PM, with more localized warnings possible from regional offices.
